Happy New Year 2015!

What up, playahs!  *cough, cough* boy is it dusty in here!

So with the New Year around the corner, I've started a dedicated webpage that will focus on my little commission painting studio, as well as everything that I've done professionally, so far in my career as a painter.  Please continue to follow me there!

Biel-Tan Eldar Rangers done!

So here are pictures of the 16 Eldar Biel-Tan Rangers that I've been painting up this week for a commission!  At the bottom is probably my favorite sculpt, the "Observing Ranger", and that could just be because it's the only one that doesn't come in the boxed set.  Painting these boys up made me miss the old metal models and how much smoother everything is.  The finecast Ogre Firebelly I'm painting now is okay (actually less than okay if you've seen my unboxing video), but I've noticed the skin isn't smooth like metal models, its almost rough textured.  Strange, but after painting so much finecast, the difference was obvious to me.  I have a couple of boxes of the finecast rangers I might do an unboxing video for, just to see if there is that rough surface quality to them.

Anyways, hope you're all doing well and having a great weekend!  Blog to you all soon!

Wurtzey!

That's right, y'all!  For those of you who aren't following me on YouTube (why not?!?), here's the finished Wurrzag video.  This was one of my more favorite recent models, I really had a great time painting him up.  If you don't have him yet, wait for him to come out in Finecast, because I accidentally dropped him a couple times during the process and his head, arm, and leg ALWAYS popped off each time, no matter how much I glued them back in (which reminds me, I need to buy some rods for pinning!)

Pictures coming soon!

Mortis Engine and Nurgle Warrior of Chaos

I'm back!  And I brought pictures!  Here's Lewis' brother, Phil (a.k.a. Axl Rose) and a Nurgle Chaos warrior.  I figured this would be a good place to post close up pictures of them.  Enjoy and keep watching my youtube videos for more WarbossTae awesomeness!

Poor spirit horde guy at the base!  He has to hoof it while the others get to fly around =D

I really like the use of the Sepia washes to dull and dirty silver armor!  Must remember this technique with any future Nurgle models...

When painting this model, try not to break off your lance tips, or they'll most likely not re-glue straight.  Wop-Waaah...

Ohs noes!  It's my crazy ex-girlfriends!!!

"Why don't you have a real hobby?!?"

"When are you going to get me those shoes I told you about?!?"

"Buy me jewelry!!!"

Who wrote the book of love?

Sure wasn't this guy!

Finally, some Nurgley goodness!

Back from the Warp

What up, playahs!

I can't believe its been months since I've posted here!  I apologize for the delay, with my current work schedule getting so crazy its been hard enough just posting videos in my spare time.  I'll try to get back to snapping some stillshots WIP of whatever I'm doing (New Year's Resolution for 2013!), but in the meantime, I hope you've all been checking out my videos on youtube!  Its been a great month for the Ironblaster cannon and I want to really up my video output with the Empire color schemes.  Just as a sneak peak for all of you, here's what I have PLANNED (ahh, the best intentions, and all that...) in the coming days, in no particular order:

Empire Provinces Taetorials
A series of videos showcasing how I would paint each province of the Empire, including lost provinces like Solland and Sylvania, and lesser used city-state color schemes, like Bogenhafen and Marienburg.

Unboxing Demigryph Knights
You know I's gots ta do it!

Demigryph Taetorial
Gonna paint me up some chocobo knights!

Bragg The Gutsman
Another Ogre Kingdoms taetorial for my homeys at the Stronghold, this one should be relatively fast and easy, and great for OK players who have the model but don't like to use him as a Special Character because of his poopy rules, this will allow you to paint up and use this fantastic little sculpt in your unit of Maneaters as a double handed weapon-wielding psycopath he is!

Unboxing Vargheists/Crypt Horrors
I'll be building up two Vargheists, and one Crypt Horror, for people to see how easy each one glues together, and looks when completed.

Vargheist Taetorial
As the clear winner of my youtube poll, the Vargheist will be the first going under the brush!

Crypt Horror Taetorial
Hosted by my live-in manservant, this video will show you how I would paint up a Crypt Horror like Igor.

Unboxing Mortis Engine
Poor Coven Throne!  Nobody loves you!  Hopefully there will be enough awesome Coven Throne leftover bits for me to do something with them elsewhere in my Vampire Counts army.  For now, though, this should be a very fun unboxing video!

Mortis Engine Taetorial
Igor says its time to pimp his ride!  Again!  And so, in sub-assamblies like the Ogre Kingdoms Ironblaster, I show how I paint the Mortis Engine for the Vampire Counts army!

The Warboss Wishlist
Sadly put on the backburner because the time I'm not hobbying at home, I'm spending sleeping and recovering from my new crazy schedule, I still like to scan the list every now and again in case I actually DO find the time to do something not on my priority heap =D

Puppies, Corpse Carts, and Krell

Sorry its been a while, I know!  It doesn't help that Papa Nurgle blasted me with one of his plagues again and I've been sick as a dog this past week.  But, hopefully, all of you have seen my newest set of videos on YouTube!  Here is just the first of my two newest taetorials for the Vampire Counts, on how to paint the Dire Wolves, and how to paint Lewis' pimped out ride!

You also may have seen my newest video, just posted today, on Krell.  Here it is if you haven't!

Also, I'm trying to add to my reviews a little more structure with the following formula, what do you think:

1)  How easy is it to put together?
2)  How easy is it to clean off the mold lines and flash?
3)  What sorts of extra bitz come with the kit that you can put into a bitz box for later?
4)  What is my general opinion of the way the model looks and final thoughts?

By implementing this structured review at the end of my unboxings and product reviews, I think people will have a clearer idea on all of the things that I think are important to prospective purchasers.  Do you have any suggestions or creative criticism on my checklist?  Is there anything you would add or take out?  Let me know!

Puppy! Dire Wolves coming soon!

Here's a test model for my upcoming Dire Wolves taetorial video.  There is still some final highlighting I think I'll need to do before I can say its finished, but overall, I think it came out pretty well.  Its amazing what washes can do!

Here are the paints I used (all GW):
Dheneb Stone
Adeptus Battlegrey
Red Gore
Calthan Brown
Ogryn Flesh
Baal Red
Leviathan Purple
Badab Black
Bleached Bone
Skull White
